NFL 2026 Season: The Only Calendar Setup You'll Need

The NFL schedule is a moving target. The league releases the full schedule in May, but flex scheduling means games can shift time slots as late as Saturday afternoon. Week 18 matchups get determined by playoff positioning. Wild card weekends get announced on Monday of that week.
If you're trying to track this manually — checking NFL.com every week, updating your calendar, re-downloading .ics files — you're fighting a losing battle. Here's how to set it up once and let it run itself.
The NFL's Flex Scheduling Problem
NFL flex scheduling is a feature for fans of good matchups but a nightmare for anyone tracking games on a calendar. Starting in Week 5, the NFL can flex a Sunday afternoon game to Sunday Night Football. They can also flex games out of prime time if the matchup isn't compelling. Here are the 2026 flex rules in one table.
A static .ics download from the NFL's website won't reflect these changes. You download the Cowboys' schedule in September, and by November half the games have moved time slots.
SportsCal subscriptions update automatically. When the NFL flexes a Cowboys game from 1 PM to 8:20 PM Sunday Night, your calendar reflects that change by Saturday. No action needed on your part.
What About Thursday Night, Sunday Night, and Monday Night?
All three are included. Every game in the NFL season is in the subscription, whether it's:
- Thursday Night Football (Amazon Prime Video / NFL Network)
- Sunday afternoon (CBS or FOX, depending on conference)
- Sunday Night Football (NBC / Peacock)
- Monday Night Football (ESPN / ABC)
- International games (London, Munich, São Paulo)
Each event includes a Watch Link pointing to the right broadcaster for that specific game. No more guessing whether it's on CBS or FOX this week.
Playoff Games Are Included Too
Wild card weekend, divisional round, conference championships, and the Super Bowl — they're all added to your calendar automatically when game times are announced. You don't need to do anything special for postseason.
