Formula 1 announced the calendar on September 16, 2026. Pre-season testing is in Bahrain from February 24 to 27.
What changed from 2026
- Ten sprint weekends, up from six. Bahrain, Australia, Japan, Monaco and Abu Dhabi get a sprint for the first time.
- Portugal and Turkey are back. Neither has hosted a race since 2021. Portimão is June 20, Istanbul is October 3.
- The Dutch Grand Prix is gone, and Barcelona sits out 2027. Madrid is the Spanish race.
More sprints means more Saturdays you actually need to be in front of a screen. On a sprint weekend the Saturday has a race in it, not only qualifying.
What nobody knows yet: the session times
The announcement gave dates only. Session start times for 2027 have not been published, and they normally come much later. So any 2027 time you see today is a guess.
That is also why the 2027 races are not in a calendar feed yet, ours included. A calendar event needs a start time. The 2027 sessions go into the F1 calendar once their times are published.
Still to come in 2026
| Grand Prix | Weekend |
|---|---|
| Bahrain Grand Prix (held at Sepang, Malaysia) | October 2 to 4 |
| Singapore (sprint weekend) | October 9 to 11 |
| United States (Austin) | October 23 to 25 |
| Mexico City | October 30 to November 1 |
| São Paulo | November 6 to 8 |
| Las Vegas | November 19 to 21 |
| Qatar | November 27 to 29 |
| Abu Dhabi | December 4 to 6 |
Session times for each of them are on the F1 schedule page. These are the ones worth having in your calendar now. Austin, Mexico City, São Paulo and Las Vegas are in the Americas, so the times are kind if you live in the US. Singapore, Qatar and Abu Dhabi are not, and that is where a calendar that converts the time for you earns its place.
How to watch in the US
Apple TV is the US home of Formula 1 from 2026, on a five-year deal. An Apple TV subscription includes every practice, qualifying, sprint and race. Apple says select races and all practice sessions are free in the Apple TV app, and F1 TV Premium is included with the subscription.
How to put F1 in your calendar
- Open the walkthrough for your calendar: Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.
- Tap the green button at the top of that page. It opens the calendar builder.
- Search for Formula 1 and add any team. Every team's calendar carries every session of every Grand Prix. Then pay for Season Pass, $47 a year. Your email is asked for at checkout.
- Follow the steps for your app on the walkthrough page.
Each session is its own event, named for the Grand Prix and the session: practice, each part of qualifying, sprint and race, each at its own time, shown in your timezone. If a session time changes, the event changes.
